Our Staff

We are proud of the team of dedicated and passionate animal lovers that comprise the Sea Girt Animal Hospital staff. We have over 175 years of collective experience treating pets just like yours and are deeply committed to ensuring you and your pet receive world-class animal care. Please take a moment to read up on our loyal and talented team.

Christine Krug

Christine, a technician at Sea Girt Animal Hospital since 2007, has been working as a veterinary technician since 1998. She really enjoys the work she does and is especially fond of her duties in surgery, dentistry, monitoring anesthesia, phlebotomy and assisting in outpatient visits. She’s very excited that we’ve recently incorporated digital technology in radiography. Christine’s pet family includes Baki, an American Bulldog.

Nick Marini

Nick has been working for SGAH since 2008. He wears many hats here. First and foremost, technician, but also strong arm, repair man, and IT guy. He mostly enjoys assisting in dentistry and surgery as well as radiology and lab work. Nick is always quick with a joke or breaks into song to help the day seem even more enjoyable. He has a mixed breed dog named Knox, and a cat named Pandora. Nick is a music freak and plays drums in a band.

Christopher Gentile

Christopher joined our veterinary technician team in October, 2015, having been

a technician since 2011.  Chris loves his job, especially assisting our veterinarians with procedures such as dental cleanings and surgeries.  As an animal lover and people-person, he strives to make a difference to our clients by helping their pets.  Chris also enjoys helping to  train other technicians.

In his spare time, Chris enjoys running and working out, writing, painting, animation and movies.  He is a kitten lover and presently has 8 cats

Patty Rose

Patty, a client with Sea Girt Animal Hospital since the early 1980's, became a receptionist in 2015 after retiring from the Asbury Park Press. She feels the best part about being a staff member at Sea Girt is working with a great staff and helping clients and their pets.

Patty is married to Tom, and they have 2 dogs: Buster, a big lovable yellow lab and Georgie, a cute border collie rescue from Georgia.

In her spare time, Patty enjoys baking, reading, flea marketing, and walking.

Taylor Van Wagenen

Taylor has been working at SGAH since April of 2019 as her first job as a vet tech. Ever since Taylor was young, she dreamed of working with animals. Taylor graduated with her Associates of Science at Ocean County College and also completed 150 hours of the OCC Vet Assistant Program. She became certified through the NAVTA exam. At SGAH, Taylor enjoys seeing exotics such as reptiles. Her favorite thing to do is perform dentals and comforting animals post surgery. In her free time she loves to workout and watch hockey (GO FLYERS!). She is a proud owner of a rat terrier mix named Lola and a beardie named Bernardo.

Cameron Helwig

Cameron joined the SGAH family in July of 2020. Cameron has been an animal lover all her life, and knew from a young age that she was meant to work with them. Cameron, or Cami for short, is always wearing a smile and is excited every day to interact with our clients and their adorable fur babies. She completed the OCC Veterinary Assistant course, and loved every second of it. She also has a rescue dog named Jericho, her ‘little brown hound dog’, who she loves dearly. In her spare time, Cami loves to enjoy the Jersey Shore’s beautiful beaches and boardwalks, along with watching horror movies and riding her bike.

Ashley Thompson

Ashley started working at SGAH in November 2019, with a year experience at a previous veterinary hospital. Ashley’s love for animals comes from her volunteering at the Toms River animal shelter then becoming their kennel aide where she found her pitbull Brynn. In Ashley’s free time she loves to workout, watch Netflix and hanging out with friends.
