Sea Girt Animal Hospital

Sea Girt Animal Hospital is a premier animal hospital conveniently located at 2129 Route 35 in Sea Girt, New Jersey.

We have five wards, five exam rooms, 13 outdoor runs, two offices, large surgery and x-ray facilities, in addition to several treatment rooms and a fenced yard. We provide specialized care to dogs and cats, as well as rabbits, ferrets, hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, and some reptiles for routine exams.

Our Staff

We are proud of the team of dedicated and passionate animal lovers that comprise the Sea Girt Animal Hospital staff. We have over 175 years of collective experience treating pets just like yours and are deeply committed to ensuring you and your pet receive world-class animal care. Please take a moment to read up on our loyal and talented team.

Candi has worked for all three owners of SGAH, beginning as receptionist in 1981 for Dr. Sollas, becoming Practice Manager for Dr. Weber in 1988, and continuing with current owners Dr. Velazquez and Dr. Yurkus. The part of her job she loves the most is managing her outstanding staff and helping clients’ pets reach international destinations through export preparation assistance. Candi is a member of the Veterinary Hospital Manager’s Association and the New Jersey Hospital Managers Association. She has a rescued female mixed breed dog named Cuddy and enjoys reading, gardening, photography and all watersports.

Lee Ann Hetzel

Lee Ann originaly joined our staff as a part time kennel assistant in 1995. Years later, she became senior head technician.  In 2015 LeeAnn joined our reception staff and excels at customer service.

When Lee Ann is not working, she is enjoying her own pets. Her mixed breed pup, Charlie is a Sato (Puerto Rican) rescue, and she has two adopted senior cats.. LeeAnn loves baseball, and is a huge Mets fan.  She can always be counted on to participate with company events, which she enjoys.

Connie Ziegler

Connie started in 1997 as a receptionist for SGAH and has also done bookkeeping for the practice. She truly loves being around animals and enjoys assisting our clientele with their pets. She has fostered many dogs for Wag On Inn, including “Kuma”, a boxer/hound mix that she adopted, and has fostered for Second Chance Boxer Rescue and Boxer Angels Rescue, which is how she acquired “Jack”, a neglected boxer. In addition, she has a ferret. Connie has also fostered ducklings, bunnies, squirrels and kittens. She loves camping, surfing, kayaking and 4 wheeling.

Melanie Klammer

Melanie began as a technician with us in 2001. She returned to work as receptionist after having her second son, and has recently been combining a technician and receptionist schedule. Sea Girt Animal Hospital is her second home and her co-workers are her extended family. Mel has three goofball Dobermans, Bo, Britta, and Ani. Her interests are reading, hiking, and dog training.

Kate Black

Kate has been with SGAH since August of 2002. Having grown up on a horse farm and having worked with and owning many different types of animals, helping our clients and their pets makes every day a good day. She has her own menagerie of pets, Dandy the Dalmatian, 2 Siamese cats: Abraxas and Pai Mei, 3 Parrots: Arthur, Puck and Merlyn and 2 Horses, Aantar and Vixen. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, shopping, reading and competing in A.K.C. events with her dog.
