Testimonials

  • I have had the good fortune of a being a client of Sea Girt Animal Hospital for the past 14 years. In fact, since we moved back to Jersey City several years ago, we continue to travel back to the shore to have our pets seen by the SGAH staff.  From the receptionists to the doctors the care my pets receive is loving, complete and effective.  I recommend SGAH to anyone who craves the best in care for their pets.

Why Pet Insurance Isn't Just Cost-effective

Many pet owners consider their dogs and cats family members and are willing to spend whatever is necessary for preventative care to keep them healthy. If something catastrophic happens, such as a serious illness or injury, are pet owners financially prepared to spend hundreds or perhaps thousands? Unfortunately, euthanasia becomes an option in this case. If you love your pet and don’t have the money to cover an emergency medical situation that could cost thousands of dollars, we feel you should consider pet insurance.

If you are wondering if pet insurance is worth it, remember that insurance is designed to cover a disastrous financial loss. We purchase insurance for our own health, our homes and our automobiles, not knowing if we will ever have the need for it. If you buy pet insurance and the need to use it never arises, consider yourself fortunate. With pets living longer these days, the chances of needing it are greater than ever.

What to look for when shopping for a pet insurance plan

When purchasing pet insurance consider the following

  • You’ll get the lowest price when the animal is young.
  • Choose the highest deductible you can reasonably afford to help lower the monthly premiums.
  • Are physical exams required for coverage.
  • What is the waiting period.
  • After the deductible, what percentage to they pay.
  • Is there a cap on payments.
  • What is the co-pay.
  • Does the plan cover pre-existing conditions, chronic or recurring medical problems.
  • Are prescription drugs covered.
  • Are you covered if you are traveling with your pet.
