Testimonials

  • My husband and I have been bringing our dogs to Sea Girt Animal Hospital since 2000 and are still going.  We have tried others but SGAH has compassion, understanding, and caring.  All the doctors and staff are warm, caring, gentle and courteous.  At one time we had 6 abused and abandoned dogs, and they took superb care of all.  We have 3 dogs now and take them to SGAH for excellent care.  There are animal hospitals closer to us but we travel at least 45 minutes for our pets to go to Sea Girt Animal Hospital.

Candi Coursen

Candi Coursen

Candi has worked for all three owners of SGAH, beginning as receptionist in 1981 for Dr. Sollas, becoming Practice Manager for Dr. Weber in 1988, and continuing with current owners Dr. Velazquez and Dr. Yurkus. The part of her job she loves the most is managing her outstanding staff and helping clients’ pets reach international destinations through export preparation assistance. Candi is a member of the Veterinary Hospital Manager’s Association and the New Jersey Hospital Managers Association. She has a rescued female mixed breed dog named Cuddy and enjoys reading, gardening, photography and all watersports.

Lee Ann Hetzel

Lee Ann Hetzel

Lee Ann was hired as a part time kennel assistant in 1995. Years later, she became senior head technician, and has recently become receptionists. When Lee Ann is not working, she is enjoying her own pets. Her mixed breed pup, Charlie is a Sato (Puerto Rican) rescue. Her most recent adoption is a young cockatiel named Woody. LeeAnn loves baseball, and is a huge Mets fan.

Connie Ziegler

Connie Ziegler

Connie started in 1997 as a receptionist for SGAH and has also done bookkeeping for the practice. She truly loves being around animals and enjoys assisting our clientele with their pets. She has fostered many dogs for Wag On Inn, including “Kuma”, a boxer/hound mix that she adopted, and has fostered for Second Chance Boxer Rescue and Boxer Angels Rescue, which is how she acquired “Jack”, a neglected boxer. In addition, she has a boxer named Nalu and a ferret. Connie has also fostered ducklings, bunnies, squirrels and kittens. She loves camping, surfing, kayaking and 4 wheeling.

Melanie Klammer

Melanie Klammer

Melanie began as a technician with us in 2001. She returned to work as receptionist after having her second son, and has recently been combining a technician and receptionist schedule. Sea Girt Animal Hospital is her second home and her co-workers are her extended family. Mel has two goofball Dobermans, Bo and Britta. Her interests are reading, hiking, and dog training.

Kate Black

Kate Black

Kate has been employed at SGAH since August of 2002. Because she grew up on a horse farm and has been around so many different types of animals, being able to work in an environment where she can help our clients and their pets is something that makes every day that she comes to work a good day for her. She has her own menagerie of pets; a Chocolate Lab named JJ who thinks he is part of our reception staff, 1 cat; Cujo, 3 Parrots; Arthur, Puck and Merlyn and a 2 horses; Vixen and Aantar.

Testimonials

  • The Sea Girt Animal Hospital has been a long time supporter of the Jersey Shore Animal Center and our mission to rescue and care for unwanted, abused, sick and abandoned animals.  For many years, Dr. Marilyn Weber, Dr. Marisa Sabia, and the staff provided several free spay/neuter procedures per month for our shelter animals in need, including domestic rabbits that had been surrendered to the JSAC. Starting with the front desk staff, you are welcomed in a professional manner and the medical care rendered is second to none. With the retirement of our friend Dr. Weber, the shelter lost a superb colleague and friend; however we were thrilled to find out that the new doctor’s, Dr. Velazquez and Dr. Yurkus, are still supportive of our shelter. Thanks to their caring compassion we will be using Sea Girt Animal Hospital for several procedures per month.
